Red Carpet Fashion

With award season coming to an end, it's time to evaluate what really matters: the fashion. I mean c’mon, it’s a pivotal part of award season and the only reason I sit through Giuliana Rancic’s red carpet commentary, if I’m being blatantly honest. For the Oscars, the Grammy’s, the Golden Globes, and I could go on (believe me—I really could), celebrities assemble their glam squads to make sure every hair is in place, ensure that their contour is on point, and their ensemble is to die for. Who wouldn’t want to have a group of people paid to make you look fabulous? And while we may not always understand some red carpet outfits over others, the beauty of that is we don’t have too—because we aren’t the ones wearing it (but that doesn’t mean we can’t pick our favorites!).

The Golden Globes—

Jennifer Lawrence. The girl can do no wrong in my opinion. Time and time again J.Law serves some fierce looks on and off the red carpet. At the 2016 Golden Globes, she certainly didn’t disappoint. In a cutout gown by Dior, Jennifer wowed on the red carpet (and me watching at home!). Lawrence accented her red-hot gown with a whopping 156.77-carat diamond choker from Chopard’s. What I liked the best out of this look was that it was strikingly elegant with the peplum top and keyhole back, but the cutouts allowed her to show some skin in a slinky alternative way. Mixing the class of an Old Hollywood star, with Jennifer’s new age vibe was perfect for the Golden Globes.

The Grammy’s—

The 2016 Grammy’s red carpet posed a great question to the world: is there ANYTHING Zendaya can’t pull off? Clearly the answer is no. With her ever-changing style and hair, Zendaya takes more risks than any other celebrity on the red carpet, and those risks pay off. Oozing vintage-y glam, Zendaya opted for a black, double-breasted pantsuit by Dsquared2. The chic outfit wasn’t complete without some subtle makeup (done by Zendaya herself!) and of course her mullet hairstyle. Now, this mullet hairstyle didn’t seem to have many fans but to that style chameleon Zendaya stated, “Some would say the mullet didn’t work out. But to me, they were talking about it, so I’d say it worked out.” And to that I say, slay, Zendaya, slay!

And lastly—The Oscars.

Everyone looked amazing; it was so hard to choose. But when it comes down to it, Saoirse Ronan stole the show for me. The emerald color of her Calvin Klein Collection had me dying—in a good way of course. Down to the smoky eye and relaxed beachy waves, she looked stunning. Honestly, this is my dream dress. I would sit around and eat pizza in it if I could (I don’t think I would take it off—ever). Even though she didn’t win an Oscar, she won best dressed to me! Oh and by the way—Congrats again Leo!
