Fall Fever In Rochester

If you’re like me fall is the perfect time of year. The change of season brings with it not only beautiful autumnal colors and weather but events and things to do! When the leaves change and air becomes crisp, upstate New York really shines. From hiking in the fresh air, picking fresh fruits and veggies, and tasting some of the regions finest wines--there is no shortage of things to do.

Stokoe Farms: Scottsville, NY- Spend the afternoon with friends and family at Stokoe Farms, located in Scottsville. Picking out the perfect pumpkin is not the only thing there is to do at Stokoe’s. Wagon rides, farm animals, and pumpkin launching are just some of the fun offered at this fall hangout. Not to mention the most delicious and fresh warm apple cider donuts! A family friendly way to spend a fall afternoon!

The Grape Harvest & Wine Tasting: Finger Lakes Wine Country- The Finger Lakes region is home to some of the best wineries in New York. Red, orange, and yellow leaves accompany this region making it one of the most beautiful too. Gather up a group of friends or maybe your significant other to experience the region firsthand (and some delicious wine too).

Fall Foliage and Hiking at Mendon Ponds:Honeoye Falls, NY- Experience the fall foliage at Mendon Ponds Park in Honeoye. Enjoy a relaxing hike through the park, and experience first hand the beauty that Rochester’s fall season brings.

Haunted Hayrides of Greater Rochester: Williamson, NY- Get into the Halloween spirit with a visit to the Haunted Hayrides of Greater Rochester. Brave the haunted hayride or test your willpower in The Screamatorium. Running from September 30th through October 30th, there are plenty of opportunities to get your scream on!

Zarpentine Corn Maize: Hilton, NY- Lose yourself at the Zarpentine Farms Corn Maize in Hilton. This 20 acre maize allows you to get lost in the stalks. Zarpentine Farms also does events throughout September and October as well as offering fresh farm bakery items to get the flavors of fall.

After a long day of fall activities there’s nothing better than cuddling up on the couch with a warm blanket and watch my favorite Halloween movies. What’s your favorite way to relax after a long fall day? Whatever your answer is, fall only comes once a year so get out and experience it!
